Hinghen, a Mahoinedan, about 50 years of age, was admitted into the Charitable Dispensary at Sealkote, on the 2nd December, 18G5, with compound comminuted fract1 i-e of both bones of the right leg, and compound dislocation of the tarsal bones of the foot. The accident was caused by the wheel of a heavy cart, drawn by a pair of bullocks, having passed over the limb, and occurred eleven days before his admission. The wounds communicating with the ankle-joint were sloughy and offensive, attended with unhealthy-looking discharges of fluid mixed up with synovia. The unhealthy inflammation had reached its
